GridWars.run — neon grid banner

Full PvP. No limits. Free to play. Open source.

GridWars.run is a persistent cyber-grid MUD where programs, daemons, and rogue users clash across contested sectors. Claim territory, issue challenges, run black-ice routines, and carve your identity into the Grid — no deletion, no safe rooms, no pay-to-win.

How to Connect

GridWars.run is online-only — there is no self-hosted edition. The production server goes live soon. Until then, follow the repo for status updates.

Choose a Faction

Every entity in GridWars declares allegiance. Factions shape your combat style, your access to sectors, and how the Grid perceives you.

Users

Operators from outside the Grid. Raw executive access, high heat signatures. Claim sector roots and issue system-level orders — if you can survive long enough.

Programs

Born of the Grid. Precise, lethal, loyal to function. Programs execute without hesitation — speed and efficiency over raw power.

Daemons

Autonomous. Unaligned. Dangerous. Daemons run persistent patrol routines, hold sector chokepoints, and don't negotiate.

Roadmap

The Grid is still compiling. These cycles are locked in — follow the repo for status.

  • Lightcycle duels

Real-time 1v1 arena combat with timed challenge-accept windows.

  • Daemon AI patrols

Persistent NPCs that hold chokepoints, escalate on intrusion, and remember offenders.

  • Sector ownership

Factions capture and hold grid sectors for passive resource yield and tactical control.

  • Identity discs

Unique program artifacts carrying kill records, stolen sectors, and rep history.

  • Black-ice routines

Automated intrusion countermeasures deployable by sector owners.

  • Production server

    gridwars.run :4000 — live, persistent, always-on Grid.
